Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
This policy explains, in plain words, what personal data we receive when you ask for a quote or a booking, why we use it, and which cookies this website uses. It is written for this website as it works today.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Chauffeur Excellence Italy (Dorel Radu Iliut). For any question about your data, or to exercise your rights, write to info@chauffeurexcellenceitaly.com.
2. How this website works
This is a simple information website. There are no user accounts and no database, and nothing you type in the booking form or in the price estimator is sent to or stored on our server. The estimate is calculated in your browser. When you press a WhatsApp or email button, your device opens WhatsApp or your email app with a pre-filled message: you can read and change it, and it reaches us only if you decide to send it.
3. What data we receive
Only the data you choose to send us on WhatsApp or by email, typically:
- your name and contact details (phone number, WhatsApp account, email address);
- trip details: dates, times, pickup and drop-off addresses, number of passengers and luggage, vehicle, tour or route;
- flight number, train or cruise ship, so we can plan the pickup;
- any other information you add, such as special requests (child seats, a wedding, accessibility needs).
Please share health information (for example reduced mobility) only if you want us to take it into account for your trip; we use it only for that purpose. Giving us your data is voluntary, but without contact and trip details we cannot reply or provide the service.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically processes the technical data needed to deliver the pages (such as IP address, date and time, page requested and browser type) in its server logs, for security and correct operation. We do not use this data to identify you.
4. Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To reply to your request, prepare a quote and provide the service you book: steps taken at your request before a contract and performance of the contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- To meet legal obligations, for example tax and accounting rules: GDPR art. 6(1)(c).
- To keep the website secure and working, and to protect our rights in case of disputes: our legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
We do not use your data for marketing or newsletters, and we do not make automated decisions or profiles about you.
5. How long we keep it
- Requests that do not lead to a booking: only as long as needed to handle them, and no longer than 12 months after our last contact.
- Bookings: for the time needed to provide the service; invoices and accounting records for the period required by Italian law (generally 10 years).
- Server logs: for the period set by the hosting provider for security purposes.
6. Who else handles your data
We never sell or rent your data, and we do not share it for marketing. It is handled only by the services we need to talk to you and run the website:
- WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd., part of Meta), if you write to us on WhatsApp. Its own privacy policy applies.
- Our email provider, which stores the emails we send and receive.
- IONOS, the company that hosts this website.
- Google Fonts (Google): the website loads its fonts from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), so your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google when a page opens. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
- Public authorities, only when the law requires it.
Meta and Google may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States; they rely on safeguards recognised by EU law, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR (articles 15–21) you can ask us at any time to:
- access your data and receive a copy;
- rectify data that is wrong or incomplete;
- erase your data;
- restrict how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format (portability);
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
Just write to info@chauffeurexcellenceitaly.com; we will reply within one month. Some data must still be kept when the law requires it (for example invoices). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
8. Cookies
This website does not use cookies: no technical, analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. It does not store anything in your browser (no localStorage or similar), and it has no analytics, tracking pixels, ads, social plugins, embedded maps or videos. The language is chosen only by the page address (English at /, Italian at /it/) and is not saved.
The only external resource is Google Fonts, described above, which does not set cookies. Because no cookies or tracking tools are used, no cookie banner or consent is required. Links to WhatsApp or to other websites (such as the photo credits on Wikimedia Commons) take you to services with their own policies.
9. Changes to this policy
If the website or the way we handle data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
